Here are the forum rules. Follow them and abide by them at all times. SME is a public forum. To keep the forum readable and a nice place to stay, we ask that you follow a few basic rules. By using or participating on our forum, you agree to the Forum Rules as stated below.
Moderation On this forum we have moderators. However, the moderators cannot be everywhere and see everything. If you see something that is against the forum rules, please report it to the moderators by pushing the 'report to moderator' button (located beneath each post). Note that the moderators have the final say-so in any situation. They will evaluate the situation on a case-by-case basis and take appropriate action where needed.
What Is A Moderator? Moderators are volunteers who generously give their time to help board users with questions about our sites and boards. They also are the peacekeepers and are here to ensure that all visitors enjoy their stay. This means enforcing the forum rules.
What Do Moderators Do? Moderators monitor forum posts and respond to complaints to keep the forum free of undesirable content. They enforce the board rules, and can delete posts, edit posts and more. If a moderator lets you know you are close to crossing the line, take heed of the warning. This could mean you are close to a temporary or permanent ban.
What Is An Administrator? Administrators usually look after the technical aspect of the forum. Furthermore, they can decide who becomes moderator and they solve argument between members and moderators. Finally, they can ban people from the forum.

What If I Disagree With A Global Moderator or a Administrator? Our Moderators are not perfect and are only human. Disagreements occur between everyone, and that includes us on the forum staff. Try to communicate with them first on a respectful level and settle your disagreement. If you do not agree with a decision that is made, you are not permitted to start a topic arguing about this decision or flaming any of the moderators. Any messages of this nature will be removed. This extends to Private Messages and email as well, and you are not permitted to insult moderators via any of these methods.
If you feel a decision is unfair, please contact the administrators. Inform us about the situation.
Posting On The Forum When posting, you should keep a few rules in mind.
Copyrighted Material Our forum users agree not to post any material that is protected by copyright or trademark or other without the permission of the owner of the copyright or trademark.
Hate Posts Hate posts and personal attacks will not be tolerated on the forums, either on the public boards or in personal messages. This will lead to a warning or ban.
Profanity and violence Offensive language is unacceptable. A simple rule to follow is: "when in doubt, leave it out." You don't have to use excessive profanity to get your point across, and it's usually better to completely avoid it. Profanity in posts will be censored, and the poster will be warned and eventually banned. Repeat offenders or those who use excessive profanity may lose the privilege to post on the forum.
Spam Purposely spamming a message board with senseless or empty messages to gain more posts is highly frowned upon! This includes such things as party posts, chain letters, continually posting the same topic on a particular board, and posting the same topic across several boards.
Impersonating Other Users / Accessing Another User's Account / Owning Multiple Accounts You may not impersonate another forum member or create an account specifically for the purpose of provoking other users. Also, using someone else's account or attempting to access another members account is strictly prohibited. Creating multiple accounts is strictly forbidden. Owning multiple accounts will at least lead to an immediate ban of all but your first account.
Off-Topic Posts Please try to post topics in the correct board, and when posting in a topic, try to keep the content within your post related to the subject of the thread
Questionable Content Since we can't have a rule to cover everything, this is the rule to, well, cover everything. These are public boards, so act like you would if you were in a public place. Questionable content will be marked and dealt with by moderators.
Please keep these rules in mind at all times!
Thank you for taking the time to read our forum rules!
